TRICIA STONE-SHUMAKER, MA, CCC-SLP, CAS, CERT B.B.M.

Ayres Sensory Integration Certified
Speech-Language Pathologist – Owner

Tricia was raised in a military family and moved throughout the United States during her childhood before officially setting roots in Central California. She owns a private practice that serves the tri-county area of the Central Valley (Kings, Tulare, and Fresno Counties).

Tricia received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Disorders and Deaf Studies from Fresno State. She has experience working with all ages, from infants through geriatric years. Her focus remains on the pediatric population, primarily working with early intervention, orofacial myofunctional disorders, and autism. Her clinical experience includes providing services in home, clinic, preschool, and medical settings.

Tricia has evaluated and treated patients of various ages and delays associated with feeding disorders, speech and language delay, autism, various genetic disorders, traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, voice disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, Down syndrome, and cleft lip/palate.

She is licensed to practice speech-language pathology in the state of California and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Tricia has two sons in college, both of whom grew up attending speech therapy in a variety of settings. Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is especially meaningful to her because her son had a severe tongue thrust, which led her into the speech-language pathology profession. With the combined perspective of both parent and therapist, Tricia brings kindness and compassion to every family she serves.
